A documented, controlled system
Not a folder of templates. A controlled document set with revision history, director approval and a defined review cycle.
Every SWMS we issue is a controlled document with a document number, revision, issue date and review date. It is prepared once, approved by the director, and reviewed on a set cycle — not filled in on the tailgate.
Before work starts on any job, the SWMS is verified against the actual site using our Prestart & Job Safety Analysis, which records the site, the crew, the plant in use, site-specific hazards, permits obtained and worker sign-on. That is what WHS Regulation (Qld) s.299 requires, and it is the evidence that site-specific review actually happened.
Every worker on our jobs holds stop-work authority. If conditions become unsafe or a control fails, work stops until the hazard is controlled and the SWMS reviewed.
What sits behind the paperwork
Permits & isolation
Permit-to-work compliance, isolation and lockout-tagout, energised electrical work permits. Where a client operates their own permit system, theirs applies and is verified before work starts.
Competency records
Worker induction, training and competency records maintained and verified before a worker is assigned — not on site.
Inspection registers
Plant, PPE, height safety, lifting gear, first aid and test-and-tag registers. Hazardous chemicals register maintained per WHS Regulation s.346.
Incident reporting
Incident, hazard, near-miss and corrective action reporting, with alignment to client supplier codes of conduct.
Injury management
Injury management and return-to-work procedure aligned to the Workers’ Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003.
Psychosocial & conduct
Psychosocial risk management and a written sexual harassment prevention plan, as required in Queensland.
